lead sled parkin’ och big power meet parking lot i Västerås ’06

Bil träffar Sverige Posted on %PM, January 02 2007 18:56:05

Here are some photographs from the the very exciting lead slead parkin’ meet which coinsided with the big power meet in västerås last july and is reserved for old school rods and kustoms. I have some real world obligations now and as much as I would love to provide the info to acompany the following at this time, sad to say it will have to wait till I am less burdend by employment.Blog ImageHere is an great example of Original pinstriping on a 51 shoebox Ford.Blog ImageThe signature here is mostly lost to the ages, although clearly dated ’50 something or other my guess would be ’53, ’58 or maybe ’56 Blog Image

The early date on the stripe job looked original though the black scroll work on the side panels are in the 60’s to 70’s time frame.Blog ImageAfter a talk with owner Kalle Lundberg I got the anwer to this riddle.

It turned out that the car was customized in the early 50’s and at some later point a large part of the body was repainted to match the original color and the newer style stripes where added in black!Blog ImageThe the new and old ‘stripes work well off each other. Note the amount of wear in the black compared to the white, that could have to do with thinning of the black to ppull those amazing curly Q’sBlog ImageKalle also e-mailed me this picture of the fender skirt which was not in use during the show. Thank’s again Kalle!Blog ImagePinstriping by Olle TorslundBlog ImageBlog ImagePinstripes by Pekka Wizz of FinlandBlog ImageBlog ImageBlog ImageThe work TiN, also from FinandBlog ImageBlog ImageBlog ImageBlog ImageBlog ImageBlog ImageBlog ImageBlog ImageBlog ImageBlog ImageBlog ImageBlog ImageBlog ImageBlog Image
