This is my friend Gabbi’s 1950’s Monark, it’s styled kind of like the old crescent speedways. Blog ImageMartin at Gamastans Cykel ( www.gamlastanscykel.se )restored it with original parts. Gabbi kept things simple, even though Martin had plenty of period aftermarket parts on hand the n.o.s. grips and generater powered lighting took precedence. Blog Image a practical ride with class!

A few specs on this tallbike: The bottom frame rides on 28″ rims and has a crazy rake on the steer tube as well as a laid back seat tube. The fork is original and has a mini springer built in the crown, that coupled with the cafe style bars and the backwards facing gooseneck gives this tall bike the handling of a chopper. Even so the bike rides really well, I was suprised how well actually, it dosen’t do so well cornering (check the wheelbase) but it excelerates quick and rolls real fast and stable like.
